That's what we needed
A Phillies starter went 8 innings today. Boy we needed that.
John Lieber pitched a solid game, and gave the bullpen some much needed rest. That's 2 games straight where the Phils out-offensed one of the most potent lineups in the game. Talking to the players in spring training, they all said that the starters were the key this year, and so far so good.
Pat Burrell is also showing the talent that he has. His swing looks great and he's not going after the bad outside pitches that he was last year. He's waiting for his pitch and he's putting a perfect swing on it. I know it's early, but he's leading the league in hits and RBI's. He can do it all year.
